February 21 vs. Malone (AMC Tournament 2nd Round)
Shawnee State lost 94-92 to Malone College in the Second Round of the AMC Tournament.  Wes Dudgeon led Malone with 26 points on 9 of 11 shooting.  He was 7 of 8 from the free throw line.  As a team, Malone shot 67.4% from the field including 60% form behind the arc.  Antwain Lavender led Shawnee State with 25 points and 7 assists on the night.  Andre Horton added 19 points while Curt Grimes had a career game with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
 
February 16 @ Mt. Vernon Nazarene
Shawnee State closed out the regular season with a 96-89 loss to Mt. Vernon Nazarene.  The Bears struggled from the 3-point line connecting on only 10 of 34 attempts.  MVNC held a distinct advantage at the free throw line as well.  The Cougars connected on 25 of 31 attempts from the stripe.  SSU took only 12 free throws connecting on 7 of them.  Antwain Lavender led five Bears in double figures as he had 33 points on the night.  Andre Horton had 18 points.  Adam Davenport had career-highs with 16 points and 8 rebounds.  Jeff Fraley had 12 points while Jay Hall added a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.  Anthony DeLimpo led Mt. Vernon with 28 points and 10 rebounds. 
 
February 12 @ Rio Grande

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team, ranked 20th in NAIA Division II, defeated The University of Rio Grande 82-81 in overtime on Tuesday evening. Andre Horton led Shawnee State with 25 points and 5 assists. Antwain Lavender had 18 points and Jeff Fraley had 16 points on the night. Adam Davenport added 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Cain Vandall led Rio Grande with 19 points. Joe Delaney had 12 points and 10 rebounds while Jerry Barlow added 13 points and 9 rebounds for Rio.  Rio Grande held a distinct advantage on the boards and at the free throw line. Rio out rebounded the Bears 48-32. Rio Grande hit on 21 of 31 free throw attempts while Shawnee State took only 10 shots from the stripe. The Bears connected on 9 of their attempts.  Jeff Fraley drained a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 5 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime. Fraley drilled a 15-foot baseline jumper with 1 second on the clock in OT to secure the Bears’ victory.

 
February 9 vs. Walsh

Shawnee State University, ranked 18th in NAIA Division II, dropped an 80-77 decision to Walsh University.  The loss gives Walsh, ranked 19th in NAIA Division II, a full one-game lead in the American Mideast Conference race.  Shawnee State fell behind by fourteen, midway through the first half.  The Bears cut the deficit to 7 by intermission.   SSU managed a one-point lead on several occasions during the second half, but could never pull away before surrendering the lead.  The Cavaliers proved too tough on the glass as they out rebounded SSU 51-38.  Andre Horton led Shawnee State with 26 points on the afternoon.  Antwain Lavender had 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in the contest.  Jeff Fraley added 14 points for the Bears. Ben Holt led Walsh with 24 points and 8 rebounds.  J. R. Ogletree added 22 points and 4 assists.  

 
February 8 vs. Daemen

Shawnee State University, ranked 18th in NAIA Division II, defeated Daemen College 72-58 to remain in a tie with Walsh University atop the American Mideast Conference.  Andre Horton led the Bears with 27 points on the night. Horton managed to shoot only 7 of 23 from the field, but he did knock down 9 of 10 attempts from the free throw line. Jay Hall added 21 points and 14 rebounds.  Mark Rouse and Jonathon Walker had 16 points apiece for Daemen College.  

 
February 5 vs. Malone 

Shawnee State University, ranked 18th in NAIA Division II, rolled over Malone College 100-84.  Andre Horton led the Bears with 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Antwain Lavender added 18 points and 8 rebounds.  Jeff Fraley and C.J. Captain had 14 points apiece.  Fourteen points is a season high for Captain, who entered the game averaging just two points per contest.  Jay Hall scored 11 points and became Shawnee State’s All-Time leading scorer with 1,337 points.  Shawnee State overcame a 54-41 rebounding deficit by forcing 23 Malone turnovers.  The Bears committed just 8 turnovers on the night.  Shawn Stead led Malone with 18 points.  Tim LaFluer added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Pioneers.   

 
February 3 @ Notre Dame College

SSU picked up a 99-74 win over Notre Dame College (2-21, 0-14 AMC) to move into first place in the AMC along with Saint Vincent College and Walsh University.  Andre Horton had 21 points in the victory.  Jeff Fraley scored 20 point for the second consecutive game.  Jay Hall had 12 points and 9 rebounds.  Hall’s 12 points moved him into a tie with Randall Pennington for the most points scored in a career at Shawnee State with 1,326.

 
February 2 @ St. Vincent
Shawnee State suffered a 102-99 double overtime loss to Saint Vincent College (14-6, 10-3 AMC) to move out of sole possession of first place in the AMC.  Andre Horton led all scorers with 43 points in the loss at St. Vincent.  He was 14 of 27 from the field including 9 of 20 from behind the three-point line.  He dished out a career-high 7 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds.  Jeff Fraley had 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.  Jay Hall and Antwain Lavender had 15 points apiece. 
 
January 26 vs. Ohio Dominican 

Shawnee State, ranked 22nd in NAIA Division II, won their sixth straight ball game as they defeated Ohio Dominican College 100-82.  Andre Horton and Antwain Lavender combined for 54 points.  Horton drained 7 of 11 three-point field goals on his way to 28 points.  Lavender was 9 of 19 from the field and 7 of 7 from the free throw line for 26 points.  Jay Hall recorded a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. As a team the Bears shot 52.9% (36 of 68) from the field, including 41.7% (10 of 24) from behind the arc.  Despite giving up a tremendous amount of size, the Bears won the battle of the boards 39 to 34. Ryan Wilson led ODC with 24 points.  Jeremy Renner had 14 points and Brad Cupito added 13 points for the Panthers.

 
January 22 vs. Rio Grande

Shawnee State defeated The University of Rio Grande 80-79 on Tuesday evening.  Andre Horton led Shawnee State with 30 points and a career-high 6 assists on the night.  He was 10 of 23 from the field including 7 of 15 from behind the 3-point line.  Jay Hall had 22 points on 9 of 11 shooting.  Antwain Lavender added 12 points while Jeff Fraley had 10 points. Jerry Barlow led Rio Grande with 21 points.  Joe Delaney had 18 points.  Sean Plummer added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Shawnee State shot 42.4% (28 of 66) from the field including 34.5% (10 of 29) from behind the arc.  Rio hit on 26 of 49 shots for 53.1% from the field. 

 
January 19 @ Urbana

Shawnee State drilled Urbana University 96-80.  Andre Horton, the NAIA National Player of the Week, led SSU with 37 points.  He connected on 12 of 26 field goal attempts including 9 of 18 from behind the 3-point line. Antwain Lavender had 14 points.  Jay Hall and Jeff Fraley added 12 points apiece.  Aaron Lammers had 20 points for Urbana.  Brad Smith added 14 points for the Blue Knights.  Shawnee State hit on 32 of 72 (44.4%) attempts from the field including 18 of 41 (43.9%) from behind the 3-point line.  The Bears out rebounded Urbana 47-35.

 
January 15 vs. OU-Southern

Shawnee State defeated OU-Southern 97-69 as all but one SSU player scored in the game.  Andre Horton, the AMC Player of the Week, led the Bears with 17 points.  He was 6 of 17 from the field including 5 of 11 from behind the arc.  Jay Hall had 15 points and 11 rebounds.  Hall moved into second place on SSU's All-Time Scoring list with 1,246 points.  Richard Montague scored a career-high 13 points in the win, and Adam Davenport recorded his first career double-double with 10n points and 10 rebounds.  Ryan Young led OU-Southern with 18 points.  Josh Lawson had 15 points and Nate Sutton added 13 points for the Trailblazers.

 
January 12 @ Tiffin

Shawnee State defeated Tiffin University by a score of 88-75. The Bears avenged a 101-96 loss to Tiffin at home the previous week. Andre Horton led the Bears with 28 points. He hit on 7 of 17 attempts from the field including 6 of 13 attempts from behind the 3-point line. He was also 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Jeff Fraley added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Jay Hall and Antwain Lavender (Columbus, OH) each recorded double-doubles. Hall had 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Lavender had 11 points and dished out 10 assists. Kipp Huntsberger and Brian Thompson each had 13 points for the Dragons. Greg Barnes, who scored 25 points in the prior meeting, was held to 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting.

 
January 8 @ Cedarville
Shawnee State defeated Cedarville University 101-96 in double overtime. Andre Horton  led Shawnee State with 41 points on the night. He scored 11 points in the second overtime including 9 on three consecutive 3-point field goals. Antwain Lavender added 22 points and 4 assists. Jay Hall added 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Jason Weakley led Cedarville with 20 points. David Dingeman added 17 points for the Yellow Jackets.  Shawnee State trailed 42-38 at the half, and they were behind by as many as nine in the second period catching Cedarville. Regulation ended with the score tied at 77. Both teams struggled in the first overtime scoring only 7 point apiece. SSU outscored Cedarville 17-11 in the final frame.
 
January 5 vs. Tiffin

Shawnee State lost to Tiffin University 101-96 on Saturday evening.  The Bears entered the game as the third best 3-point shooting team in the AMC at 37.7%.  SSU connected on just 14 of 45 attempts versus Tiffin for 31%.  Jeff Fraley led the Bears with 27 points on 9 of 17 shooting, including 7 of 14 from behind the arc.  Andre Horton finished with 22 points and 6 assists.  Antwain Lavender and Jay Hall added 20 points each.  Hall also grabbed 14 rebounds.  Greg Barnes led Tiffin with 25 points and 13 rebounds.  Kipp Huntsberger added 17 points for the Dragons.

 
January 2 @ Geneva

The Shawnee State University Men’s Basketball Team picked up an AMC victory on the road Wednesday evening as they defeated Geneva College 88-74.  Andre Horton led all scorers with 22 points on the night. Jay Hall chipped in 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Jeff Fraley had 16 points. Antwain Lavender added 13 points and dished out 9 assists.  Nate Conley led Geneva with 20 points. Three other Geneva players also scored in double figures.  As a team, the Bears connected on 30 of 61 shot attempts for 49.2%. They hit on 10 of 25 shots from behind the arc for 40%. SSU won the battle of the boards 41-30.

 
December 29 vs. Durham College (@ Findlay)

Shawnee State defeated Durham College 115-58 in the consolation game of the Findlay Holiday Tournament.  Antwain Lavender led all scorers with 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting.  Andre Horton added 22 points.  Jay Hall recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Horton and Lavender were named to the All-Tournament Team.

 
December 28 @ Findlay
Shawnee State lost the opening game of the Findlay Holiday Tournament to The University of Findlay by a score of 103-78.  Andre Horton led SSU in scoring with 25 points.  Jay Hall added 19 points and 15 rebounds.  
 
December 22 @ Wilmington
Shawnee State defeated Wilmington College by a score of 97 - 77 on Saturday.  Andre Horton led Shawnee State with 29 points as he connected on 7 of 16 attempts from behind the 3-point line.  Jeff Fraley added 20 points for the Bears.  
 
December 13 vs. Cedarville

Shawnee State defeated Cedarville University by a score of 99-76.  Antwain Lavender led the Bears with 25 points on the night.  Andre Horton had 22 points, and Jay Hall added 14 points and 10 rebounds.  As a team, SSU shot 23 of 42 (52.6%) from the field including 14 of 25 (56%) from behind the 3-point line.  Andrey Arkhipov led Cedarville with 20 points.  Josh Gast added 14 points for the Yellow Jackets.

 
December 8 @ Point Park

Point Park College defeated Shawnee State by a score of 81-73.  Jeff Fraley led the 25th ranked Bears with 19 points and 7 rebounds.  Dimitar Simovski led Point Park with 23 points.

 
December 1 vs. Houghton

Shawnee State won their second consecutive AMC game as they defeated Houghton College by a score or 76-67. Andre Horton led a balanced Bears attack with 18 points on the night.  Jay Hall added 16 and Antwain Lavender had 15 points.  Jeff Fraley chipped in 12 points.  Justin Pauley led Houghton with 19 points.  Joel Hamilton had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

 
November 30 vs. Roberts Wesleyan
Shawnee State opened AMC play as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan College 102-95.  Andre Horton led the Bears with 35 points on the night.  Horton set a school record for free throws made in a game (15) and free throws attempted (19).  Antwain Lavender had 22 points as he connected on 5 three-point field goals.  Jay Hall added 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Jeff Fraley and Curt Grimes had 11 points each.
 
November 28 vs. OU-Chillicohe
Shawnee State defeated OU-Chillicothe 104-61.  Andre Horton led all scorers with 22 points.  Jeff Fraley had 16 points and Antwain Lavender added 14 points.
 
November 24 vs. Grace College (@ Worthington, OH)
Shawnee State defeated Grace College by a score of 95 - 91 to improve to 4-3 on the season.  Andre Horton led the Bears with 36 points on 12 of 24 shooting.  He connected on 6 of 12 3-point field goals and 6 of 7 free throws.  Antwain Lavender added 27 points on the night.  Jeff Fraley had 14 points.  Matt Abernathy led Grace with 27 points.
 
November 19 @ Morehead State
Shawnee State lost to NCAA Division I Morehead State University by a score of 103-78 on Monday night.  Andre Horton scored 29 points as he drained 7 three-point field goals.  Antwain Lavender added 16 points.  The biggest difference in the game came at the free throw line.  The Bears hit on 17 of 26 attempts from the line, compared to 34 of 41 attempts by Morehead State.
 
November 17 @ Defiance
Shawnee State blew a 17-point half-time lead as they lost to Defiance College 103-91.  Antwain Lavender scored 28 points and Andre Horton added 26 points for SSU.  Jeff Fraley recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Eric Viney led Defiance with 25 points. 
 
November 16 vs. Thomas More (@ Defiance)
Shawnee State defeated Thomas More College 84-63 in the opening game of the Defiance Financial Classic.  Andre Horton and Jay Hall each had 17 points.  Hall also had 11 rebounds.  Antwain Lavender added 15 points.
 
November 13 vs. Kentucky Christian
For the second game in a row, Shawnee State hit the century mark as they defeated Kentucky Christian College by a score of 110-66.  Andre Horton led the Bears with 19 points.  Jay Hall had 18 and Antwain Lavender added 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting.  Curt Grimes and Danny Martin had 11 points apiece.  T. J. Lykins had 17 points for Kentucky Christian.
 
November 10 vs. Circleville Bible 
Shawnee State pounded Circleville Bible College by a score of 115-62 to even their record at 1-1 on the season.  Five Bears scored in double figures on the night.  Jay Hall led the way with 22 points, while Antwain Lavender added 19.  Adam Davenport had 15 points and 9 rebounds.  Mike Frazier scored a career-high 12 points, and Richard Montague had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
 
November 9 vs. Southern Polytechnic
Despite 41 points from Andre Horton, Shawnee State dropped an 85-81 decision to 14th ranked Southern Polytechnic.  Horton was 10 of 17 from the field including 7 of 10 from behind the 3-point line.  He also connected on 14 of 16 attempts from the free throw line.  Jay Hall added 14 points and 7 rebounds.
