The Shawnee State Bear Run is a biannual event, which is held each Spring and Fall on and around the campus of Shawnee State University.  The 5K walk/run has grown immensely over the years.  Just over 200 individuals finished the initial race.  A record 854 participants finished in the Fall 2008 event.  The Bear Run is free to all students and children as well as Shawnee State faculty and staff.  For the general public the entry fee is $10.00 for pre-registration and $15.00 for walk-ups.  All participants receive a free t-shirt featuring the infamous "Running Bear."  The 15th Annual Fall Bear Run is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.  For more information, please contact the Shawnee State University Athletic Department by email or at 740-351-3285.

Bear Run t-shirts will be given out before the race for those individuals who have pre-registered. 
Those participants who register the day of will receive their shirts at the completion of the race.
