May 6 @ Urbana

Tyler Hollar got the win as he allowed only 1 hit and struck out 4. Shawnee State split a double-header with Miami-Hamilton University.  The Bears won the opener 7-2 behind a complete game from Justin Craft.  He allowed 2 unearned runs on 3 hits will walking 1 and recording 8 strikeouts.  Brad Wilder was tagged with the loss.  Corey Fischer was 2-for-2 with a double.  Brian Ramey and Justin Craft had 2 RBI apiece.  [Box Score]  Shawnee State managed just 5 hits in a 4-1 loss in the nightcap.  Casey Woodell took the loss as he allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits and 1 walk.  Mike Macaluso got the complete game win.  Michael Roelker was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for Shawnee State.  [Box Score]

Shawnee State Baseball Team swept a double-header with Walsh.  It took the Bears nine innings to get the 2-1 win.  In the bottom of the ninth, Justin Craft hit the single to left field to drive in Zac Shoaf for the winning run.  Eric Spille got the win for the Bears.  He pitched the 9th inning, allowing no hits and striking out 1.  Justin Craft pitched the first 6 inning allowing 1 run on 6 hits, with 4 walks and striking out 9.  Nick Collins pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, and had 1 strike out.  Alan Frame was tagged with the loss.  He pitched 8 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 5 walks.  He had 9 strike outs. March 15 @ Alice Lloyd

Shawnee State defeated Alice Lloyd 5-4 in what was supposed to be game 1 of a double-header.  The nightcap was cancelled due to rain.  Shawnee State took a quick lead as Zac Shoaf led off the game with a single and was promptly doubled home by Brian Doberdruk.  Alice Lloyd tied the game in the bottom of the second inning on a run scoring single by Robert Smith.  The Bears scored again in the third and twice in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead.  Alice Lloyd plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth and SSU's Nick Collins was replaced on the mound by Jonathon Venters.  The game was tied 4-4 heading into the seventh inning. SSU's Justin Craft led off the inning with a double.  He moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by RJ Niemer.  Designated hitter Brian Ramey singled to drive home Craft.  Alice Lloyd threatened in the seventh as Lamar Williams reached on an error to lead off the inning.  Venters struck out the next two batters before giving up a single.  He retired the final batter on a fly ball to right field.  Doberdruk had 3 hits and an RBI and scored 2 runs for Shawnee State.  Justin Craft had 2 hits, 1 RBI, and scored 1 run.  Jonathon Venters (1-1) picked up the win for the Bears.  Lamar Williams had 2 hits, 1 RBI, and scored 1 run.  Timmy Taylor took the loss for Alice Lloyd.  [Box Score]

 
March 11 vs. Notre Dame

Shawnee State University Baseball Team rallied in the bottom of the 9th to beat Notre Dame College 4-3.  Bases loaded Bryan Doberdruk hit a fly out to centerfield that would result in Nick Collins scoring the tying run.  Logan Crabtree singled through the left side that would send Zac Shoaf in to win the game.  Randall Scott was tagged with the win.  He pitched the final 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2.  Philip Holt pitched the first 7 innings.  He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, walking 2, and striking out 5.  Chris Balmert got the loss for the Falcons.  He pitched the last inning and allowed 1 run on 4 hits.  Mike Novak pitched 8 innings allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks, and 10 strikeouts.  [Box Score]

 
March 10 vs. Mount Vernon

Shawnee State lost a pair of game to Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  Mount Vernon won the first game 15-5.  Justin Craft was tagged with the loss.  He allowing 7 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.  Eric Spille pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed 7 runs on 7 hits.  Nick Collins pitched the last inning, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, walking 1 and had 1 strike out.  Ryan Decker got the win for Mount Vernon.  He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, walking 1, and had 2 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.  Marc had picked up the save as he pitched 2/3 innings and allowing no runs on no hits, and had 1 strikeout.  Zac Shoaf was 3-for-3 in the game and scored 2 runs for the Bears.  Bryan Doberdruk was 2-for-3 and tallied 3 RBI’s in the game.  Josh Estep was 4-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI’s for the Cougars. Shawnee State opened American Mid-east Conference play with a double-header split with Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  The Bears lost the first game 9-2.  Randall Scott was tagged with the loss.  He went two innings and gave up 8 runs on 9 hits and walked 1.  Greg Reimer worked 3 1/3 innings and allowed 1 run on 2 hits and walked two.  Philip Holt pitched 2 innings and allowed only one walk.  Bryan Doberdruk was 2-for-4 in the game and scored 1 run and had 1 RBI.  The only other run for the Bears was scored by Casey Wooddell.  Billy Stump tallied 1 RBI in the game.
