Coach's Comments --
"R.J. was sidelined with a shoulder injury last year
but will start behind the dish in the opener. In 5 games last year
he hit .333 with 1 double and 2 RBI’s. His focus and work ethic has
set the tone for our catching core." 2007 Season
-- R.J. played in 28 games and started 23 for the Bears.
He compiled a .236 batting average with 1 homerun, 2 doubles, and 9
RBI's. 2006 Season
-- R.J. played in 5 games and compiled a .333 average
before taking a red-shirt due to injury. 2005 Season -- In 28 games as a junior, R. J.
had a .283 average with 1 homerun, 3 doubles, and 12 RBI. He
had two multi-hit games on the year. 2004 Season -- R. J. played in
23 games and started 13. He hit .214 with 3 doubles and 7
RBI. His best game of the season came in a 9-10 loss to Walsh
on March 14. He was 2-3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 1 run
scored.
2003 Season -- R.J. played in
23 games and started 14. He hit .188 and posted a .986
fielding percentage.
St. Xavier High School
– R.J. was a 3-year letter in football and a 2-year letter winner
in baseball at St. Xavier. He was also awarded All-League and
All-City honors.
