Bill Odle is entering his third year as an
assistant baseball coach for the Bears. Odle has an extensive
baseball background spanning over 30 years of coaching experience.
At Northwest High School Odle helped High
School Hall of Fame coach Dennis Hegarty compile a 407-132 record.
Odle also spent 7 years with the Post 23 Legion team that had a
remarkable record and numerous Division I players. In 1994 Bill
became the bench coach for the Portsmouth Explorers of the Frontier
League.
Odle graduated from Portsmouth High School and
earned a bachelors degree in Physical Education and a minor in
Health & Special Education from Ohio University in 1975. Bill played
under Hall of Fame basketball coach Harry Weinbrecht from 1970-1972
at Ohio University- Portsmouth.
Odle currently resides in Portsmouth with his
wife Sandy. Tracey, their son, graduated with a bachelor’s degree
in Sports Management from Ohio University and currently lives in
Florida.
