Coach's Comments -- "Venters
has a great mental make-up. He could see a lot of time if he
can continue to keep the ball down. He also provides another
option at 1st base if necessary. He has soft hands around the
bag and good reaction to the ball."
2005 Season -- Jonathon emerged as the
Bears #2 starter as a freshman. He compiled a 4-3 record with
an ERA of 4.26. Opposing batters hit just .257 off Venters and
he was second on the team with 35 strikeouts.
Xenia High School -- Jonathon was
three-year letter winner in soccer and baseball at
Xenia.
