Coach's Comments -- ""Jared
gives us solid power in the four hole. Unlike typical cleanup
hitters, Jared provides world class speed. He will feast on
opposing pitchers and create RBI opportunities for our five and six
hitters. Jarred has also come a long way improving his play in
the outfield." 2005 Season -- Jared
led the in batting (.390), runs scored (41), walks (19), on base
percentage (.476), RBI (41), stolen bases (21), and homeruns (9).
He was 4 for 4 with 4 runs scored and 8 RBI in a 12-3 win @ Urbana
on April 4. He was a 1st Team All-AMC selection and honorable
mention All-American.
2004 Season -- Jared played in
29 games after recovering from a stress fracture in his foot.
He had 4 multi-hit games including a 3-hit performance in a 15-5 win
over Calvin College on March 22.
2003 Season -- Jared earned
Honorable Mention All-American Mideast Conference honors his
freshman season. He had a .339 batting average with 39 hits,
20 RBI's and 2 home runs.
South Point High School
– Jared played basketball, baseball, and track at South Point
High School.
