Coach's Comments -- "Matt
is a very good athlete and has the ability to dominate batter on the
mound and destroy opposing pitchers at the plate. He is very
exciting to watch play. In addition to being great on the
field, Matt was also named to the Dean's list last fall."
2005 Season -- Matt played in 24 games and
made 8 pitching appearances in 2005. He was 4 for 4 with 2
runs scored and 1 RBI in a game versus Mt. Mercy which was called an
8-8 tie due to darkness. He led the Bears with 3 saves.
South Webster High School -- Matt was a
four-year letter winner in baseball and a one-year letter winner in
basketball. He was the team MVP in baseball three consecutive
years. He earned all-district and all-conference honors.
