Charge of the Committee

Charge of the University Academic Assessment Committee (as approved by the UFS, 9-12-00)

The charge of the University Academic Assessment Committee is to provide a channel for communication, advice, and liaison among the EPCC, the UFS, and faculty campus wide regarding academic assessment..  Academic assessment is defined as the use of qualitative and quantitative methods and measures to evaluate the process and outcomes of student learning and to ensure the continuous improvement of the same.

DUTIES:

1. Serve as a channel for input on assessment matters from faculty and other members of the SSU community

2. To disseminate information (e.g., about survey results, data on student learning, developments in assessment practice, assessment initiatives & programs, etc.)

3. Assist and advise faculty and other members of the SSU community in formulation of meaningful assessment initiatives and uses of data about student outcomes and learning

4. To recommend to the UFS changes in university academic assessment polices.
