 As we go along, I hope to add more elements to the newsletter; so if you have any ideas, please let me know.

Homecoming 2005

This year’s Homecoming is scheduled for January 29, 2005, and there are several activities planned.  Here is the schedule of events (Remember, all events are subject to change.):

11 a.m.   Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet—Micklethwaite Banquet Hall, University Center. 

                        Class of 2005 inductees:

3:45 p.m. Coronation of Homecoming King and Queen

4:15 p.m.  Men’s Basketball: Shawnee State vs. Tiffin University

                        Halftime:

                        Introduction of new Hall of Fame members Matt Ashkettle, Baseball and

Ralph Cole, Softball

Special Recognition: Ralph Kavanaugh

6 p.m.  Shawnee State Men’s Basketball Alumni Game (Cross Court)

            Shawnee State Women’s Basketball Alumni Game (Cross Court)

7 p.m.  Shawnee State Volleyball Alumni Game

7-11 p.m.  Postgame reception at Ramada Inn (Scioto Room).  Everyone welcome

                 (including children).

9 p.m.–Midnight   Homecoming Dance, American Legion, 705 Court Street.  $5 admission.  Alumni are admitted for free with their old student ID.

Vern Riffe Center for the Arts

The Vern Riffe Center for the Arts and the Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association are continuing their 2004-2005 season; and as alumni, you are entitled to discount prices on tickets!  Just reference the words “box office” when you order your tickets.

You may purchase your tickets at the McKinley Box Office, or by calling (740) 351-3600.  Box Office Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For those of you who will be in town, we are having an Alumni Roundtable Thursday, January 20^th at 5:30 p.m. in the President’s Conference Room in the Administration Building.  Come share your ideas and give your opinions on the future of alumni affairs at Shawnee State!  Please RSVP to me by Tuesday, January 18^th.
