Shawnee State University welcomes students from all cultures.  Specific degree information can be accessed in Academics. Additional information about the registration requirements for transfer students can be accessed through the Registrar's section.

The Shawnee State campus provides unique University Housing and beautiful, new facilities such as the Clark Planetarium and the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. SSU is located in Portsmouth, Ohio, USA, which is a charming, small rural town in southern Ohio. You will find our campus to be safe, yet SSU offers a comprehensive co-curricular life to provide a total college experience.

As the International Student Admission Coordinator in the Office of Admission, Rick Merb will be responsible for receiving your application information and producing the required International documents.

You will be required to submit your final transcripts, both college and high school.

You will need to provide documents demonstrating that you have the financial resources to support yourself for one year at Shawnee State University.

The school code to have your Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores sent directly to Shawnee State University is 1790. The minimum score required is 500 paper-based or 207 computer-based.

Shawnee State University is committed to helping you excel in your college coursework and to ensure that you are successful in your college experience. The Center for International Programs and Activities (CIPA) offers many services to our current international students and is actively engaged in helping future students come to SSU.  The Student Success Center will also assist you with many academic and social activities.
