The Dental Hygiene program at SSU held its annual Alumni Continuing Education Day
The Dental Hygiene program at Shawnee State University held its annual Alumni Continuing Education Day this past October where SSU Dental Hygiene alumnus, Theresa Johnson, presented “The Benefits of an Anesthetic Portfolio: Risk Assessments to Results” and “Current Infection Prevention Protocols and Recommendations: Are You in Compliance?”
Johnson’s experience in the dental industry includes clinical practice, education and dental office practice management. With her experience, Johnson has helped develop orientation and mentoring programs for new students. Her lectures provide dental professionals with current scientific research and information to assist them in implementing effective and efficient evidence-based treatment protocols in their clinical practice.
Johnson received her dental hygiene degree from SSU, a Bachelor of Technical Applied Science from Ohio University, and her MBA from Mount Vernon University. She is currently the Clinical Educator for Dentsply Sirona Preventive, serving the southwest United States. Johnson also serves as a delegate to the Texas Dental Hygienists Association and is actively involved in her component.
