Shawnee State University welcomes two new international students to campus
Shawnee State University welcomes two new international students to campus as part of the U.S. Department of State’s Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in Pakistan (Global UGRAD-Pakistan). The two new students joining SSU are Bilal Khan and Hoorab Romail.
The international students of the Global UGRAD program bring diversity and new perspectives to the classroom, and provide students with the chance to make lasting relationships that span across the globe.
The goal of the Global UGRAD-Pakistan program is to give talented, highly motivated undergraduate students from underserved populations across Pakistan the opportunity to spend a semester at a U.S. college or university so that they can develop a broad understanding of American values and U.S. culture that they will be able to share with friends, family, fellow students, and others upon their return to Pakistan as well as in their future careers.
The Global UGRAD-Pakistan program is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State and is administered by the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX). The goal is to foster mutual understanding between people of the U.S. and people of other countries to promote friendly and peaceful relations through a range of programs based on the benefits of mutual understanding, international educational and cultural exchange, and leadership development.
