Shawnee State University to hold 2017 Spring Bear Run

SSU Athletics will be hosting its annual Spring Bear Run starting at 6 pm on April 19.

Shawnee State University Athletics Department will be hosting its annual Spring Bear Run starting at 6 p.m. on Weds., April 19 at the James A. Rhodes Athletic Center.

Pre-registration for the 2017 Fall Bear Run will be available from now until Sun., April 16. Registration is free to all SSU students, faculty, staff and alumnus, as well as any grade school, junior high and high school students. Other participants will be charged a $10 registration fee. The Bear Run t-shirts are available to all participants at an additional cost of $6 per shirt and can opt to buy the shirt upon registration. Registration is $10 on Race Day to all SSU students, faculty, staff and alumnus and any grade school, junior high and high school students. For other participants Race Day registration is $20 and $25 for race and shirt.

This Bear Run features a new 5k course that begins and ends on 3rd Street by the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts and travels through campus and alongside the beautiful murals on Portsmouth’s floodwalls. Participants have the option to either run or walk the course.
