Shawnee State University to hold Veterans Recognition Day

The event will start at 10 am on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Morris University Center.

Shawnee State University will hold the 2016 Veterans Recognition Day starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Morris University Center.

The day will begin with a variety of displays featuring U.S. Historical Flags, SSU Veterans Wall, Portsmouth Kettlebell Club, Tribute to Past Events and Recruiters. There will be Veterans Services and Organizations present at the event.

The Veterans Recognition Ceremony will start at 12 p.m. in the Sodexo Ballroom with Sam McKibben as the Master of Ceremonies. Presentation of Colors will be performed by American Legion Post 363 and the National Anthem will be sung by Stan Workman, SSU faculty.

President Rick Kurtz will open with a welcome speech and introduce the speakers, State Representative Terry Johnson OANG (Ret.) and Congressman Brad Wenstrup.
