Information

The SSU Development Foundation has been awarded $250 as the recipient of the Walmart Community Grant.

The Shawnee State University Development Foundation has been awarded $250 as the recipient of the Walmart Community Grant to support programming in the Office of Student Life.

The Walmart Community Grants Team is a program that focuses on creating impact in the neighborhood by giving back and supporting organizations where their customers and associates live and work.

The grant will go towards SSU’s “Weekend of Welcome” event that will take place at the beginning of the school year and is full of activities to help students become familiar with the campus and surrounding community.

“We know that students who attend welcome events are more confident when they start classes because they have the opportunity to meet new friends, explore academic and co-curricular opportunities and navigate campus, and the grant will help to make these opportunities happen,” said Justin McMillan, Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs and Student Life.

The Office of Student Life provides resources needed for students to develop knowledge and skills needed for success and is committed to encouraging and helping students become involved in campus life through a variety of leadership programs, student clubs and organizations.
