Shawnee State University’s chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta receives Chapter of the Year Award

SSU’s chapter of the International Sociology Honors Society received the Chapter of the Year Award.

Shawnee State University’s chapter of the International Sociology Honors Society, Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), is the 2014-15 recipient of the Chapter of the Year Award.

The Emory Bogardus Chapter of Year Award was established by AKD to recognize and reward chapter achievement in fulfilling the general purposes of AKD: to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.

The use of the award is to support chapter development and service activities.

AKD will present the award to Dr. Sean Dunne, Faculty Advisor of the Sociology Club, and student members of SSU’s AKD chapter in Chicago at the annual conference of the American Sociological Association during the Distinguished Lecture and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, August 22.
