JobFest 2015 will be held in the UC Sodexo Ballroom on Tuesday, March 24 from 11 am – 3 pm.
In an effort to help college students obtain employment for the purpose of career advancement, the Office of Career Development at Shawnee State University will host JobFest 2015 in the University Center's Sodexo Ballroom on Tuesday, March 24 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
JobFest is an annual event held at the beginning of the spring for individuals who are currently looking for internships and full-time positions in their fields of study. Over 90 employers are scheduled to attend JobFest, including companies such as Fastenal, Kenworth, Southern Ohio Medical Center, and Kroger, among many others.
Nikki Karabinis, Assistant Director for the Office of Career Development at Shawnee State University, says that the amount of employers who have signed up for the event have grown by the day.
"The interest has been fantastic," she said. "Of the employers who are coming, at least 25 to 30 of them will be setting up on-campus interviews during the event, so that will help not only jobseekers, but students who are underclassmen who will be looking for jobs in the future."
Those searches, Karabinis believes, have been made easier by the workshops that the Office of Student Career Development has held over the past two months, which include résumé clinics and sessions discussing various topics such as work attire.
JobFest is open to all class levels. For more information about the event, contact Nikki Karabinis at (740) 351-3027.
