Community Invited to Meet SSU Presidential Candidates

Members of the SSU and Portsmouth community are invited to meet Dr. Sam Minner Jan. 26.

Members of the Shawnee State University and Portsmouth community are invited to attend a reception to meet Dr. Sam Minner, a candidate for the presidency of the university, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 in the Sodexo Ballroom on the second floor of the University Center.

Similar receptions will be held Feb. 2 and 9 for presidential candidates Ronald Nowaczyk and Rick Kurtz.

Dr. Minner is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Radford University in Radford, Virginia, where he has served since 2011. Previously, he held leadership positions as Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Education at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and Chair of the Department of Instructional Leadership at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.

A native of Illinois, Dr. Minner earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive and Behavior Disabilities at the University of Arizona. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education at Southern Illinois University.
