The SSU Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Robert Trusz as VP for Student Affairs.
During its meeting on Friday, Nov. 14, the Shawnee State University Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Robert Trusz as Shawnee State’s Vice President for Student Affairs.
Trusz has served as Acting Vice President for Student Affairs for the past year, providing leadership and stability for the departments in that division, including the Offices of the Dean of Students, Housing and Residence Life, Counseling and Health Services, Student Life, and Multicultural Student Affairs. Before assuming this role, he served as SSU’s Director of Admission and Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.
“Over the past fourteen years, Bob has provided tremendous leadership as the university has grown,” Dr. Rita Rice Morris, SSU President, said. “In recent years, he has led efforts to coordinate services that impact enrollment, from recruitment to student retention. As Vice President for Student Affairs, he provides a breadth of experience as we continue efforts to strengthen the role that student affairs plays in student success.”
Prior to joining Shawnee State University in 2000, Trusz served as Director of Admission and Transfer Coordinator at Millikin University for seven years. A graduate of Purdue University, where he earned Master of Science in Education and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degrees, Trusz brings more than 32 years of experience in higher education.
