Academic and Student Affairs Committee

Purpose

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee shall consider and make recommendations for action by the Board on policy matters with regard to:

Academic policies and standards;
Approval of new degree programs; Review of existing academic programs;
Awarding of degrees;
Review of promotion and reappointments of faculty; and
Organization and staffing of Academic and Student Affairs.


 

Finance and Administration Committee

Purpose

The Finance and Administration Committee shall consider and make recommendations for action by the board on policy matters with regard to:

Review and recommend the University's budgets, schedule of student fees, financial operations including annual audits, business organization and practices, borrowing or funds, investment of funds, and submission of appropriation and capital requests;
Solicitation of funds;
Approval of agency grants and contracts that exceed $25,000 or that commit the University to continuing the grant activity beyond the grant period;
Salary, wage, and benefit policies;
Naming, location, planning, construction, and maintenance of the university's plant and grounds, and the purchase and sale of lands and buildings; and
Organization and staffing of Finance and Administration.

 

Executive Committee

Purpose

The Executive Committee shall consider and make recommendations for action by the Board on policy matters with regard to:

Refer to Board committee general University policies and business not specifically assigned to another committee;
Orient and train new Board members;
Maintain relations with local, state, and federal legislation and administrative agencies;
Review bargaining unit agreements and make recommendations to the full Board;
Consult with the President on personnel appointments and separations;
Evaluate the performance of the President; and
Act on behalf of the Board on policy matters needing immediate attention and report such actions to the board. 
To act on behalf of the Board, a quorum of the Executive committee (three members) must be present. Executive Committee actions taken on behalf of the Board shall be reported to the board and made a part of the official record by including such action in the record of the next regularly scheduled Board meeting. Any meeting of the Executive Committee at which binding action is taken shall adhere to all provisions of Ohio Revised Code 121.22, the Open Meetings Law.

The External Relations Committee shall consider and make recommendations to the board on matters affecting the university that involve community constituencies, university stakeholders or government entities.
