Student Focused

At SSU, our class sizes are small to allow more one-on-one interactions between students and faculty. In student and parent surveys, the personal attention and care by faculty and staff was listed as the strongest single advantage of Shawnee State University.

Academically Challenging

Our personal attention is matched by our commitment to academic excellence. At SSU, you will be challenged to explore new worlds, ideas, and ways of thinking. Here, you will find an intellectually stimulating community that will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about your career, your future, and even yourself.

Best Academic Value in Ohio

Cost is important when choosing an institution. Shawnee State provides one of the best educational values in Ohio and beyond. Our tuition is among the lowest in the state and is matched and exceeded by our students’ academic opportunities, challenges, and potential return on their investment.
