Standout Student

When Camron Clark entered college, he had no idea what possibilities existed in the field of biology. He enjoyed working with plants and thought that being a teacher was the only career path for him. That was until he met Dr. Bob Deal, a professor in Natural Sciences at Shawnee State. He was soon doing research on genetic manipulation of plants — and a new world opened up to him. He has since earned national scholarships for his work, which has allowed him to present his research on the spring emergence of cucumber beetles at the Entomological Society of America's meetings in Reno, Nevada and Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has also had the opportunity to work with graduate students from other universities and plans to pursue a graduate degree in horticulture.

Now, Camron says the possibilities are endless.

Shawnee State's academically challenging programs are focused on emerging technologies and emerging ideas — preparing students, like you, for the future.
