Federal Guidelines and Belmont Report :
The SSU IRB is required by law to follow the
federal regulations for the Protection of Human Research Subjects, 45
CFR 46. In making decisions, we also refer to the ethical
principles set forth in the “Belmont Report Ethical Principles and
Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research” (Belmont
Report), which is from the National Commission for the Protection of
Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research. Below are
