Biology Minor


Our biology minor is designed for students who wish to develop a better understanding of biological concepts. This is an excellent program for students who need to prepare for a career in which an understanding of biological concepts would be helpful. Chemistry majors who are interested in pharmacy or medicine are strongly encouraged to consider this minor.

Program requirements are as follows:

General Biology (8 hours)

BIOL1151 General Biology 1 4
BIOL1152 General Biology 2 4

Upper Level Biology (3–4 hours)

Choose one course from the following:

BIOL3770 Genetics and Molecular Biology 3
BIOL3850 Ecology 4
BIOL4770 Cell Biology 3

Biology Electives (8 hours)

Any BIOL course numbered 2000 or above. At least one course must be numbered 3000 or above.
