The Medical Laboratory Technician Program at Shawnee State University is a two-year course of study that prepares students to work in all areas of the laboratory. Courses in each of laboratory are presented in both lecture and laboratory format. Upon successful completion of the program students are awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree and become eligible to take the certification examination given by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
The mission of the Medical Laboratory Technology program is to educate and prepare students to become competent, responsible, and collaborative laboratory professionals in the ever-changing health care environment.
