Master of Education (M.Ed.) Curriculum & Instruction (33 hrs) Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate K-12) (35 hrs)
SSU offers a Master of Education degree with two strands: Curriculum & Instruction and Intervention Specialist. Both are offered in a five-semester sequence. The course work is designed around the schedules of working teachers and school professionals through evening and summer classes using a blend of traditional (face-to-face) and technological (on-line) delivery approaches. The purpose of the Teacher Education Program is to prepare educators to be learner-centered and inquiring professionals who can think critically, act ethically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of all students By encouraging the acquisition of these characteristics, this program hopes to develop educational professionals who will be change agents in their schools and communities through the implementation of evidence-based teaching practices and the demonstration of strong, yet collaborative, leadership qualities.
