Information About

Teacher Education Admission

While SSU is an open enrollment institution, teacher licensure is a selective admission program. As such, the successful graduate and licensed teacher will have completed admission requirements as s/he progressed through the program.

There are three levels of admission:

Level 1: Admission to Teacher Education

Level 2: Admission to Licensure Program

Level 3: Admission to Student Teaching

Specific requirements for each of these levels are identified in the Admission, Retention, Advising Sequence document provided to students upon initial advising, included in the student handbook, and attached as part of the admission notification.
