SSU ATHLETIC TRAINING PROGRAM RECEIVES CAATE ACCREDITATION

The Athletic Training Education Program at Shawnee State University has received its initial accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

SPECIAL NOTE:

Students are not automatically certified or licensed after the completion of the athletic training  education program.  You must successfully take and pass the Board of Certification (BOC) examination. As well as any appropriate state licensing exam.  As of January 2004, all applicants who wish to sit for the BOC examination must graduate from an accredited athletic training education program (accredited from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

SSU ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM RECEIVES OHIO BOARD OF REGENTS APPROVAL TO OFFER THE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN ATHLETIC TRAINING

The OBR has approved SSU to now offer a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.  This change will only affect wording on your transcript to receiving Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training instead of the Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies with a Concentration in Athletic Training.  This change will begin with students who graduate beginning in the Fall Semester 2009.
