Minor in Social Work

The social work minor exposes students to the profession of social work and its mission to enhance well-being and quality of life for all people, especially those who are oppressed, or vulnerable.

Students enrolled in any of the University's baccalaureate degree programs may elect to complete a minor. This may be a particularly attractive program for those majoring in English/humanities, social sciences, or business and for those planning to attend law school. Any minor requires you to complete a minimum of 15 hours, with a minimum grade of "C". Courses taken on a pass/no-credit basis may not be applied to the minor. No more than 9 of these hours may count toward your major.

This degree is coordinated by the Department Chair. For additional information, contact the Social Sciences secretary at (740) 351–3143 or social.sciences@shawnee.edu.
