Scientific Reasoning

The scientific reasoning exam was written by a faculty member from the science department and was administered (as a pre-test and post-test) to students in NTSC 110S, Scientific Reasoning and Methodology, for nine years (1995-2004). The results showed clear improvements in students' ability to reason scientifically, with differences in results depending on the approach used by faculty members. We are considering an alternative approach to assessing scientific reasoning at present.
