How is this outcome assessed?

1.

All students in the program will be knowledgeable in laboratory safety, bloodborne pathogens, HIPAA, hazardous communication, and other laboratory standards necessary to protect themselves and the patients they serve.

 

 

MLTC 1140 Exams and Evaluations; Clinical Evaluation of Student; Employer Satisfaction Survey

2.

Students graduating from the program will be able to demonstrate minimal competencies and proficiency in all clinical areas of the medical laboratory to include; hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunohematology, immunoserology, urinalysis, Hemostasis and parasitology.

Clinical Evaluation of Student; Employer Satisfaction Survey; Medical Laboratory Mock Exam; Successful completion of all MLTC courses with a minimum score of 73% in lab and lecture; National Board Certification Exams – ASCP and NCA

3.

Students graduating from the MLT program will have developed cognitive and technical skills for career entry into the profession.

4.

Students graduating from the MLT program will be prepared to gain employment and work independently in the laboratory with minimal orientation.

Students will cultivate personal growth and development through courses offered as a part of the GEP.

Students will be provided with the necessary encouragement and cognitive background to permit hem to successfully continue their education beyond the completion of the associate of applied science degree.
