Student Learning Outcome

How is this outcome assessed?

1

Increase first time pass rates on National Board Exams (Written)

By National Board Testing & tracking of these exams by both the program and the National Registry of EMT’s

2

Achieve 100% pass rate on Practical  Boards.

Same as number one however we are at 97% on practical boards for a first time pass rate

3

Prepare students who obtain this degree to take on leadership roles in EMS Education, and serve as officers in EMS Organizations etc.

Track the graduates of the program and follow-up on their success. We can proudly state that each of our EMS-Instructors who teach in this program has the 2-year degree and the majority of them earned it here at Shawnee State.

4

Encourage our students to engage in EMS Research projects and have graduates of the program assist current students in this endeavor.

The program currently has a course in EMS Field Studies and we are conducting four minor retrospective studies at this time. These are being tracked by the program director and shared with the medical director they may lead to a change in protocol and this would be a great outcome.

1.  Column 3, "How is this outcome assessed?" may be completed if the information is available.  A fourth column will be added next year, "What are the results of the assessment of this learning outcome?"
