Demonstrate professional behaviors, clinical skills, and decision making capabilities that allow for the successful implementation of athletic training
care.

Successful completion of all degree requirements.
Challenging and passing the Board of Certification Examination.

Apply knowledge of principles, concepts, and theories in the practice of athletic training

Demonstrate skill in conducting an initial assessment on injuries / illnesses common to physically active individuals in making objective and accurate observations and be selecting, administering, and interpreting evaluative tests.

Successful completion of all 5 clinical practicum’s.

Use effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills in working with physically active individuals and sports medicine team personnel in providing athletic training care.

Document information pertaining to athletic training care using appropriate written expression.

Successful completion of all 5 clinical practicum’s.

Demonstrate an understanding of the ethical guidelines required in the profession of athletic training.

Successful completion of the BOC exam and/or the Ohio Rules and Laws Exam.

7

Demonstrate the cognitive, psychomotor and affective competencies to analyze, adapt, and apply therapeutic exercises, therapeutic modalities, and pharmacological agents in injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for physically active individuals.

Successful completion of all degree requirements.

8

Demonstrate the knowledge and confidence to function as an athletic trainer.
