SSU Medical Laboratory Technology

Shawnee State University offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in medical laboratory technology.  The program is of high quality academic and professional curricula that endeavor to prepare competent and responsible students for entry-level practice in the world of medical laboratory science.

The curriculum is designed to ensure a balance between theory and practice which is essential in preparation of competent technicians/technologists. It also prepares students with the ability to evaluate the accuracy and precision of their work, to detect errors, and to solve complex problems.  

Included in the philosophies of the program are cultivation of personal growth and development through humanities, social science, and communication.  The attempt is also made to develop interpersonal skills and attitudes necessary for health care professionals, as well as promote student awareness of medical ethics and a sense of professionalism.
