Honors Events
Wednesday, September 19 – Shawnee State Bear
Run/Walk We will begin the race/walk together, although
folks may walk/run at own pace later; plan to wear your Honors t-shirt &
meet in back of Massie Hall in Faculty/Staff parking lot by back entrance
by 5:30pm. Photo will be taken before the race begins.
Saturday, September 29 – Welcome Back
Party! (Corn Hole Tournament & Cookout) Corn Hole
Tournament & Cookout will be held on green space in back of Cedar House:
The Living & Learning Community from 3-7pm. Please email Dr. Rader of your
interest. Co-Sponsored by Department of Residence Life
Tuesday, October 16 – Game Night – Are
you ready for the Challenge! UC Ballroom East; 7-10pm –
Midterms are finally over – come & relax with your Honors friends!
Thursday, October 25 – Honors Program Study
Abroad Panel Discussion University Center –Ballroom East
– 2-3:30pm. Thinking about studying abroad during your undergraduate
experience? Plan to attend this session featuring student study abroad
experiences (our own Mandie Maxwell will share!) and information from Rita
Haider, director of CIPA (Center for International Programs &
Activities).You can complete summer, semester and year-long study abroad
experiences!
Saturday, November 17 – Trip to Cincinnati
Symphony & Music Hall All students from the Honors
section of Musi 1201 (co-curricular) will be attending this field trip.
The trip will also be open to additional Honors students (number to be
determined). Transportation and tickets to the symphony are included.
While we will be having dinner together, students will be responsible for
this cost. Professional attire is required. If interested, please email
Dr. Rader of your interest; once the number is determined, students will
be chosen in the order of their reservation.
Spring 2013 - Community Service Projects & Events
The Honors Planning Committee is currently developing community
service projects and events for Spring 2013. We are tentatively planning
community service projects with Sierra's Haven, Habitat for Humanity, and
Adopt-a-Highway. Tentative Honors events include attending a concert
through the Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association and a field trip to
the Columbus Zoo (accompanied by two zoology experts). More information to
come...
