Shawnee State University expects to host Dr. Alvin Plantinga, perhaps the world’s foremost philosopher of religion, during the 2012-2013 school year. Dr. Plantinga will be speaking on Monday, December 3, 2012, in the Sodexo Ballroom on the second floor of the University Center, at 7 p.m. His topic will be "Science and Religion: Where the Conflict Really Lies."
SSU is in partnership with ISEP-Direct, a university partnership program which connects interested students to study abroad programs all over the world. We would love to work with our majors to help them spend a summer, semester, or year abroad studying philosophy and religion. If students are interested in studying in a country where English is not the primary language, we recommend that they begin immediately with a foreign language, many of which are offered at Shawnee State University. Contact Nick Meriwether for details about study abroad opportunities: nmeriwether@shawnee.edu.
Anyone interested in forming and/or participating in a Philosophy Club should contact Dr. Daniel Johnson: djohnson2@shawnee.edu.
