College of Professional Studies

The mission of the College of Professional Studies is to prepare you for a meaningful career in business, engineering technologies, health sciences, athletic training, or sports studies. We are also committed to providing the practical and theoretical background that enables your success in advanced educational programs.

Courses taught in professional studies combine hands-on learning experiences based on guided professional practice. Many courses are conducted in on-campus laboratories that simulate the career or industrial settings in which you will work after graduation. Others, especially in the health sciences, are taught in off-campus clinical settings, where you experience interactions with clients or patients first hand.

Students in professional studies also take courses offered by the College of Arts and Sciences. Many of these are career oriented, while some, especially in the General Education Program, are required of all university graduates.
