Super Science (Grades 1-3) - Science, Technology, Engineering, Math! In this class you will hypothesize, experiment, engineer projects and discover the world of science. Students will study the properties of water, buoyancy, engineer a boat, and more!
Explore Wildlife (Grades 1-3) - Be prepared to be immersed in Ohio’s native animals! Learn how to cast a fishing pole, explore the difference between our wild and domestic animals, and play games such as predator versus prey tag.
Welcome to Seussville (Grades 1-3)- Dive in to a week of reading with Dr Seuss classics! Students will do a relay with Cat in the Hat, study new places with Oh, The Places You’ll Go and more.
Code a Story (Grades 1-3) - Experience Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar in a whole new way by retelling the story coding an Ozobot.
Crazy Art (Grades 1-4) - Calling all artists! Come create pieces of art worthy of framing with unconventional items such as spray paint, trash, paper towel rolls and more!
Rascally Reptiles (Grades 1-4) - Do you love slippery, slime, slithering critters? In this class you will take an in depth, and in person, look at reptiles and amphibians by studying their habitats, food sources, and interesting characteristics.
Muggle Treats and Fantastic Beasts (Grades 1-6) - Do you enjoy the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? Are you looking for more magical fun? Make your own chocolate frogs, butter beer and bowtruckles plus other wizarding treats. We will also use clay to create our own fantastic beasts and much more in this hands on cooking and crafting class.
Creative Cupcakes (Grades 1-8) - Hello, Aspiring Baker! This class is for you! In this class you will be mixing, baking, and eating, your own creations including: buckeye cupcakes, dirt cupcake and more!
Paint Like a Pro (Grades 1-8) - Learn basics and techniques to paint a creation you will be proud to frame and hang.
Karate (Grades 1-8) - In this class we will learn basic karate moves and end the week with a white belt graduation ceremony.
Let’s Get Inky (Grades 1-8) - In this class you’ll use professional tools such as stamps, paper, ink, die cutting tools, punches and more to create greeting cards and your own scrapbook album.
Basketball (Grades 1-8) - Take your basketball skills to the next level during drills, skills and other fundamental building activities all while improving your physical fitness. This class will be taught by Shawnee State’s own collegiate Men’s Basketball coach.
Soccer (Grades 1-8) - Learn next level soccer skills to improve your footwork, speed, ball control and accuracy. This class will be taught by Shawnee State’s own collegiate Women’s Soccer coach.
Portsmouth Ninja Warrior (Grades 1-8) - Calling all Ninjas! This class is a high intensity CrossFit program that will incorporate several sports and different types of exercise.
eSports: It’s in The Game (Grades 1-8) - Learn the tips and tricks to competitively crush Hero, League of Legends, Mario and Smash Brothers by examining VOD reviews and learning tips from the pros. This class will be taught by Shawnee State’s own collegiate eSports coach.
Video Productions (Grades 3-8) - Ever wonder how movies are made? In this course we will cover he basics of videoing, editing, enhancing, and producing movies. You will even be able to take home a DVD of your own, capturing your Cub Camp experience!
Swimming (Grades 3-8) - Whether you are a beginning swimmer or somewhat experienced in the water, this class is for you. The course includes basics about water safety and pool orientation, proper swimming techniques and stroke development, as well as plenty of fun and games. Bring your towel and swimsuit and get ready to take a dip in the pool!
Geology Rocks (Grades 4-6) - Take a closer look at what builds our Earth during an exploration of rocks, minerals, compost and soil.
LEGO into Summer (Grades 4-6) - Come learn the basics of LEGO robots, then program and build your own!
Survivor: Life on the Prairie (Grades 4-8) - What happens when you’re on your own on the prairie? How will you survive? In this class you’ll learn to build shelter, find water, start a fire, and use a compass and map to find your way home.
Graphic Design 101 (Grades 5-8) - In this class we will be learning about amazing design tools, creating your own website, blog, podcast and more.
Robotics (Grades 7-8) - Come learn the basics of LEGO robots, then program and build your own! Students will have an opportunity to complete several missions based on their level of understanding.
Water Works (Grades 7-8) - Explore the impact we have on water quality world-wide by looking at the effects of pollution on micro-invertebrate and more!
