Shawnee State's campus is located on a beautifully-landscaped 52-acre campus overlooking the Ohio River and features modern educational facilities. Of note, is the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, one of the acoustically-advanced theaters in the country, and the university's Clark Planetarium, which was the first in the United State equipped with the digital MediaGlobe system that offers three-dimensional tours through the cosmos. The James A. Rhodes Athletic Center provides fitness facilities and is home base for Shawnee State's sports teams, many of which have won national championships and whose athletes have been recognized as All-Americans and Scholar-Athletes.
